Adobe Just Launched Firefly App On iPhone And Android For AI Content Generation On The Go

Adobe Firefly is the company’s platform for generative AI creativity. From June 17, it’s just been released for mobile devices such as the iPhone and Android phones such as Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy handsets — previously it was restricted to desktops and laptops.
Mobile Creativity Unleashed
With the new Firefly app, you can capture creativity, that breathtaking, ephemeral, hard-to-bottle magic inside all of us, that often strikes when one least expects it. Providing you have your phone with you, and you’ve installed Firefly on it, you’re good to go. “We often come up with our zaniest, biggest and most creative ideas when we're out and about. In times like these, we don’t want to lose the moment by waiting until we get home to get started. With Firefly’s new mobile app, we don’t have to,” Adobe said in its latest blog.
Firefly uses advanced technology, akin to that in Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Lightroom. But it also has the option to choose AI models from Google and OpenAI if you prefer. Adobe says it’s good for creating b-roll, video backgrounds, hero images, blogs, presentations, and posters. Plus, “anything that can use a little visual pizzazz,” as it describes it, which is more or less anything, isn’t it?
There are text-to-image, text-to-video, and image-to-video tools, plus the popular Generative Fill and Generative Expand capabilities which Photoshop provides and which mean an image, for instance, that was completely unusable because you cut off half the subject’s arms or head, can be eked out into something persuasively convincing and fully-formed.
Stuff created on the mobile app is automatically synced to the user’s Creative Cloud account, making it easier to use when you do get back to the desktop. Creative Cloud subscribers are able to access the Firefly app's tools, but some AI features need Firefly generative credits — Adobe’s token-based system. These credits can be acquired separately via a dedicated Firefly subscription.
Firefly Boards Update
At the same time as releasing the new apps, Adobe also updated Firefly Boards, which is its collaborative design platform. It now has capabilities for video generation, for instance. Users can remix uploaded clips and generate new footage with the Firefly video model or via third-party tools from the likes of Google.
